The Open College, Ireland’s leading eLearning provider, has announced a new partnership with St. Anne’s GAA Club.  The partnership will see the Open College sponsor the Bohernabreena club’s mothers and Others team and will provide the team with new training wear and two fully funded QQI accredited Sports Psychology courses for leaders of the team.

With a history in sponsoring local sports team, The Open College believes in the importance of promoting gender equality in sports and this sponsorship is a testament to that commitment.

We are delighted to be supporting a great local club like St. Anne’s and particularly proud to be involved with women behind St. Anne’s Mothers and others. This partnership is a great fit for the Open College and we’re excited to give back to the local community and help women achieve their personal and academic goals through our tailored online learning,” said Joe Walsh, CEO of the Open College.

The Open College teams up with St Anne’s GAA Mothers & Others

St. Anne’s Mothers and Others team is made up of women of all ages from Tallaght and surrounding areas, who are passionate about sport and are committed to representing their community on and off the field.

St Anne’s Grace Hilliard said: “Our team is made up of ladies from varying age groups and walks of life and while our lives can be so different, every Tuesday we come together on the pitch. Whether you haven’t played before or haven’t played in years, there is always a spot for you on the team, and if nothing else it’s an hour to yourself!  We are so proud of the unity it has brought to St Anne’s GAA and we appreciate The Open College recognising how beneficial our team is and for supporting us”.

To kick off the partnership and mark International Women’s Day, the St. Anne’s Mothers and Others team took on The Open College Crossbar Challenge and you will be able to see how the ladies got on by visiting The Open College social media pages (@theopencollege) or St Anne’s social media pages(@stannesgaa & St Anne’s GAA Club) on March 8th.
