Sports Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Assistant

Dunboyne College of Further Education



Students who undertake this one-year course in Pre- Physiotherapy studies will gain an understanding of the
principles and practices of rehabilitation and an insight into how to assess and treat clients whose movement is
restricted by illness, injury, disability or age. Students will gain the skills needed by the HSE to work in the healthcare sector, which will help them to understand therapy programmes and support clients in restoring or improving their mobility.

Practical classes will be timetabled on – site at Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena and the National gymnastic Training Centre at Sport Campus Ireland campus.

Graduates are eligible to apply directly for Physiotherapy undergraduate degrees in certain UK universities. Mature students can apply for Physiotherapy undergraduate degree programmes in Ireland or the UK.
