The course takes students from evaluation of client and user needs to build robust modern websites – working with text, paragraphs, and tables to building multi-page responsive grid-based layouts using style sheets, layers, templates, and libraries.

This course is validated by Griffith College. This course focuses on the development of professional skills and does not sit on the national framework.

The Professional Certificate in Web Design & Development is conducted on a part-time basis over 12 weeks. This course is suited to individuals wcate in ho wish to develop a website including professional designers familiar with DTP or Graphics software and who need to get to grips with this powerful web design tool.

  • You will master innovative software tools crucial for web design including HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver.
  • Apply UI and UX design principles to make a website both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
  • Articulate how a web page is organised to allow elements to be accessed regardless of the programming language used with reference to the role of front-end versus back-end and server-side technologies.
  • You will gain an awareness of web publishing best practices including SEO and metadata.

Course Times This course is scheduled to commence on Thursday, 22nd February 2024 at Griffith College Dublin Main Campus, South Circular Road. This part-time evening course will run one evening per week from 6.30 pm - 9.00 pm over 12 weeks, course dates outlined below.
Title of Awarding Professional Certificate in Web Design & Development
Entry Requirements Proficient in the use of MAC/MS Applications. It is recommended that applicants have a good understanding of both written and spoken English. Applicants under 23 years of age: Minimum 5 O6s/H7s in the Irish Leaving Certificate or equivalent award Or FETAC Level 5 Full Award Applicants over 23: If you are 23 years or over from the 1st January of this year, you can apply for this course directly using the College’s online application form.
Career Path Graduates from this course may develop their skills further by completing the Professional Certificate in Digital Design with Adobe or the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing & Strategy at Griffith College. Graduates of the Professional Certificate in Web Design & Development will be well-positioned to progress in the workplace or set up their own eCommerce websites.
