Film & TV Appreciation

Donahies Community School



An introductory exploration of classic and modern cinema with specific focus on how films have changed and developed over time, understanding different genres and how the art of visual storytelling works.

With the steady popularity of TV drama in recent years, this course now also features an additional focus on just what makes thrilling television and why its popularity has increased so rapidly with the arrival of Streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. In-class screenings and potential cinema trips (if feasible) also act as an integral research and social component of this course.

Course runs on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm.
