As part of the National Library of Ireland's Brigit: Dublin City Celebrating Women 2026 series, the event “Brigid and Beyond: The Women of Irish Folklore” will take place on Friday, 30 January 2026 at 1:00pm. Folklorist Glynnis Cowley will lead the session, exploring the rich stories of women in Irish folklore.

The event will focus on Brigid, a central figure in Irish folklore known for her creativity, wisdom, and healing. Using Brigid as a starting point, the session will examine how these qualities are reflected in other female figures across Irish folklore, highlighting their diverse contributions and stories.
