The Open College offer awards which are part of the Irish National Framework of Qualifications. As a result, employers both nationally and internationally recognise their QQI qualifications. Furthermore, some awards are now mandatory requirements in Irish sectors like Childcare and Healthcare.

The pros of distance learning

There are a number of distinct advantages to distance learning and e-learning. Here are just a few of them!

  • Firstly, you don’t need to be on a campus or in a classroom. If you have family responsibilities, or are far from a city, distance learning may suit you better.
  • There also no commuting!
  • You can get new qualifications without leaving your job.
  • You are studying at home, but you’re not studying alone. Distance learning makes use of digital technology as well as online interactions.
  • Learn at your own pace.
  • Distance learning is also accessible for people with limited mobility.
  • Finally, you can live anywhere to study a distance learning course.
