An Cosán Access & Further Ed Programmes - January 2025

An Cosán have 4  FREE Access programmes and 1 Further Education Programme enrolling in January!

1. Return to Learning at Further Ed (Wednesday morning - 9:45am to 12:15pm) - Cost: FREE

This programme is designed for those who want to return to education but are worried that they might not have the experience and digital skills they need to participate fully in Adult Education. It will help you to:

  • Build or improve your digital skills for learning
  • Work on Personal Development and mindset for learning
  • Prepare you participate in a QQI Level 5/6 programme


2. Become Your Best Self (Tuesday morning - 9:45am to 12:15pm) - Cost: FREE

This course is open to women who would like to get fit, build self-confidence and become the best version of themselves.
The course will be a mixture of:

  • Physical fitness
  • wellbeing
  • Personal development.


For the physical element, those with physical issues, such as back/ joint/mobility problems or pregnancy, will need a written referral from a GP to confirm that it is safe for them to participate. Learners joining the class will need written and spoken English at B2 Level.

3. Step Up 2 Tech (Thursday morning - 9:45am to 12:15pm) - Cost: FREE

This course is open to both men and women. This course will empower learners to use Microsoft Office 365, Shopping websites, Booking
Websites, and social media with confidence. Learners on this course will be given the option to gain a Level 5 Certificate in Word Processing in
the Spring term. The course is for people who would like to increase their tech skills for use in their everyday lives and work. This course is also
ideal alongside a Level 5 Course.

4. Tech for the Terrified (Friday Morning - 9:45am to 12:15pm) Cost: FREE 
The course is for complete beginners. The aim of the course is to take the fear out of using laptops, tablets, and smartphones and toincrease Digital Inclusion. To Safely search the internet and understand online security. Access to Apps, emails, online shopping, and social
media.

5. Community Care for Work (Tuesday & Thursday Evening 6:30pm to 9:30pm) - Cost: €495 (Payment Plan Available to all. Financial Support available to those on low wage & lone parents)
This programme is aimed at those who want to work in the area of Community or Social Care. Throughout the programme
learners will complete two QQI Level 5 modules required to work in a home care or community care setting over 15 weeks.

  • Applicants Must hold or be working towards a current Manual Handling Certificate.
  • Applicants must be 18 years+.
  • Applicants should have completed the Junior or Leaving Certificate or a QQI (FETAC) Major Award at Level 4 and be proficient in English (B2 Certificate required)
