The Adventure Centre Instructor Course at Ballyhass Outdoor Training Academy offers a wide range of skills and qualifications enabling successful candidates a pathway to a career in the outdoors.

Based from Ballyhass Mallow, this course focuses on centre based outdoor activities giving you the abilities, knowledge and passion for instructing outdoor activities. Throughout the course, you will get a chance to visit Ballyhass Coachford, Ballyhoura Mountains and learn, interact and explore the Beautiful Lee Valley area.

This 16-18 week course inclusive hands-on training, classroom learning, work placement and assessment, you can leave this course as a qualified outdoor activity instructor ready to tackle any Adventure Centre of your choice.

Successful candidates will come out of the course with numerous foundation level NGB qualifications from varies awarding bodies including the European Ropes Course Association, the Water Skills Academy, the Royal Life Saving Society and the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council

The cost of the 17 week course is €2500

Full funding is available by Skillnet Ireland to anyone not currently in full-time employment

About Ballyhass Outdoor Training Academy

At Ballyhass they have been providing quality outdoor experiences for over 15 years. Originally they operated a marine leisure facility in Kinsale, they now offer over 20 different outdoor activities from two locations in Mallow & Coachford Co.Cork. At their Training Academy, they now utilise their years of experience to deliver training to individuals and groups looking to upskill!

At the Training Academy they offer a diverse range of courses which are certified by national governing bodies including European Ropes Course Association, PreHospital Emergency Care Council, Water Skills Academy & Royal LifeSaving Society. Their courses cater to individuals looking to gain qualifications to upskill or to enter into employment within the adventure industry, and also to corporate companies looking to upskill their employees in First Aid and Manual handling.

In conjunction with Skillnet Ireland, they also run an Adventure Centre Instructor training programme which intakes every January and amalgamates all of their qualifications into a 17 weeks training course in which participants will graduate with a portfolio of qualifications and direct experience leading groups.
