
This is a one-day Saturday Intensive workshop designed for those who wish to improve their ability to speak for personal or professional reasons. It is suitable for marketing presentations, new chairpersons, wedding speeches, board meetings, presenting academic papers, and anyone seeking to improve their communication skills.
You will learn specific preparation techniques to counter-act nervous tension, expand capacity for vocal expression, and practice techiques to command a room with ease. Additionally, you will receive tips for structuring presentations to create impactful content for business or personal presentations.
Participants for this workshop must come prepared to speak for approximately 5 minutes on the topic of their choosing. This can be a formal presentation of a pitch to investors, a thesis paper, event speech OR a more personal sharing on a topic such as "how to bake a great apple pie", or "my favorite holiday" or a working draft of a wedding speech. If you wish to have a Powerpoint or other digital portion of a presentation, please bring your own laptop for group viewing.
You will be able to view Video Playback of your prepared presentation and receive supportive guidance from the facilitator. A workbook will be given to all participants to take with them for further development of the techniques covered.
Class size limited to 8 students maximum.
