
The Diploma in Construction Practice introduces the learner to the computer applications and simulations associated with the construction industry. The programme creates a platform for skills in sustainability and working in a BIM environment. The learner has the opportunity to apply knowledge gained in the workplace in an academic environment. The general aims of the Diploma in Construction Practice are to: Produce graduates with the relevant knowledge and competence to be able to undertake duties as a contract administrator through the applied use of software intervention.Provide the students with a thorough knowledge of the construction process including BIM protocols, domestic energy appraisal, document control, procurement and digital communications.Prepare successful students to pursue further study to honours degree level by further study.Encourage students to further develop their abilities in problem solving, self-directed learning and basic research techniques.
