This programme, comprising 30 credits at Level 9 on the National Framework, consists of the first two modules of the Master of Arts in Learning and Teaching, which has been running in DkIT since 2010. This professional development programme is designed to support participants in improving their own practice. It is aimed at those involved in teaching and/or training, for example in adult education, further and higher education, post-primary or within private or public sector organisations.
The focus of the course is on applying good practice principles in learning and teaching to improve your teaching. Those who successfully complete these modules will have the option to transfer to the MA programme, subject to meeting entrance requirements and scheduling.
This is a professional development programme rather than a teacher training programme. It does NOT confer the basis for registration with the Teaching Council.
