Douglas native Dr Anne Marie McIlwraith has been announced as a finalist in the National Women in Business Excellence Awards 2025, recognising her pioneering work in men’s health and youth wellbeing through her ground-breaking programmes Manopause and EmpowerYouth.
Dr McIlwraith, who recently received an Honorary Doctorate in Education, has become a leading voice for holistic health and social change in Ireland. Her Manopause workshops open vital conversations around midlife men’s wellbeing — tackling hormonal change, mental health, and relationships — while EmpowerYouth equips boys and girls with essential life skills rarely covered in school, including personal hygiene, mental health awareness, self-care, and respect-based education.
“As we approach Movember, it’s a reminder that men’s health deserves equal space in wellness and workplace dialogue,” said Dr McIlwraith. “Both men and young people need safe, informed environments to learn, talk, and grow — that’s what these programmes are all about.”
With her innovative approach blending clinical psychotherapy, education, and community engagement, Dr McIlwraith continues to bridge the gap between healthcare, education, and real-world wellbeing — creating measurable impact across homes, schools, and workplaces.
