Ireland is prominently showcasing its culture, creativity, and innovation at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. The eye-catching triskele-inspired pavilion, built using sustainable Irish timber, serves as a gateway to exploring Ireland’s heritage, longstanding ties with Japan, and forward-looking spirit

A striking feature outside the pavilion is Magnus Rinn, a six-metre sculpture by Joseph Walsh crafted from bronze, oak, and gold leaf. Situated at the main entrance, it symbolises harmony between people and nature, and reinforces the Expo theme of “Creativity Connects

Inside, the pavilion takes visitors on a journey through three interconnected spaces that cover Ireland’s identity, its connection with Japan, and collaborative creative ventures. Interactive exhibits include a showcase on Irish music and dance and a spotlight on Lafcadio Hearn, the Irish‑born writer celebrated in a rotating display

Moreover, the pavilion aligns its programming with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Expo's themes of Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives

The pavilion is already receiving acclaim: Ireland was the first participating nation to complete construction, officially handed over in January 2025

Its innovative blend of traditional heritage and modern sustainability, together with a diverse cultural programme, reflects Ireland’s ambition to foster global links and highlight its strengths in science, culture, and society.
