There are many different ways to study courses that fit your lifestyle.  We’ve explained what all the different modes of study are and what they mean below:

Part-time training means you spend fewer hours per week on your course than a standard five-day, full-time programme.  Often, part-time hours are in the evening and/or weekends to accommodate those who work during the day.  Many courses are available on either a full-time or a part-time basis, so you can ultimately get the same qualification if you wish to study only part-time hours, although it may take considerably longer.

Distance learning or distance education is for students who wish to study on their own time or wish to fit gaining a qualification into a busy schedule.  At the beginning of a distance learning course, you receive self-instructional learning materials, either hard copies or online and, often, you meet the tutor and other students occasionally for workshops and tutorials during the course.

Classroom-based learning takes place in the college in a physical setting, usually with other students.

Blended learning is an extension of distance learning and is a combination of self-instructional learning materials, as well as traditional face-to-face lectures and workshops, online discussions, self-assessment activities, assignments, and formal examinations.

Online learning, Webinars or eLearning, are the delivery of courses, learning and training through digital resources. Although online learning can be based on formalized learning, it is provided through electronic devices such as computers, tablets and even cellular phones that are connected to the Internet.

Other training options include Work Placements, where you learn on the job, In-House training, where the trainers come to your company, and On-Site training, where you, the learner visits a specified location.
