Course Description

Work with professional comedians to develop your own authentic and unique stand-up routine and channel your inner funny! Over this 10-week evening course, tutors help you hone your own style and hilarious content with their constructive, honest feedback. The supportive class environment helps students build confidence – before performing your set for a live audience in a city-centre comedy club.

The Stand-Up Comedy Course at the Gaiety School of Acting is best suited to those who have never performed stand-up comedy before or anyone who would like to build their confidence with public speaking or presentation skills.

Participants of the Stand-Up Comedy Course can expect to learn:

  • How to relax your audience
  • How to be likeable on stage
  • How to develop material
  • How to present yourself with effective movement
  • How to deal with stage fright
