To enable learners to develop skills and confidence to communicate with other people at a basic level while visiting France or other Francophone countries, or to engage with French people in Ireland.

Week 1:Introductions
- French Introducing yourself and asking someone’s name; finding out how someone is
- Introducing someone else.
- Asking and responding to questions about: where you come from; where you live; your nationality; language/s spoken.
Week 2: Work, Hobby, Family, Interests
- Talking about yourself occupation or main work, hobby or interest, and finding out about someone else
- Talking about family and asking about someone else’s
- Telling the class about someone else and their family
Week 3:Places/Directions
- Greetings and polite requests
- Places in Fairview – shops and services
- Vocabulary related to directions.
- Use of where is/are and there is/are
Week 4: Review of Learning
- Review of Learning week 3
- Small group and pair roleplays of : Introductions
Talking about yourself and asking about someone else/ Directions
- Pairwork: preparing daily routines, morning, afternoon, evening, weekends,
Week 5: Ordering Food
Ordering food in a Cafe
Week 6: Travelling by train or bus
Week 7: Travelling contd. By plane
