Fire Warden Instructor Training Course

The course is fully Online – Virtual Live Videoconference through Microsoft Teams. The start time on each day is 9.30 AM – 5.00 PM.

This is a two-day course and the next available dates are as follows:

• 19th & 22nd of March
• 5th & 6th of May
• 23rd & 24th of June

Who Should Attend:

The course is specially designed for those who wish to become Fire Warden Instructors and/or for the person in charge.

Course Duration: 9:30 AM – 17:00 PM

This Fire Warden Instructor Training Course is designed to give participants the skills and confidence to deliver Fire Warden training to meet the requirements of both the “1981 Fire Services Act” and “Regulation 9 of the Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work Act 2005″. There is an element of external learning incorporated into this course.

The training format will be as follows.

Day one – Fire Safety/Science

• Legislation,
• Statistics
• Fire Science,
• Development the fire, smoke, and small travel
• Fire prevention
• Classes of fire
• The selection and use of fire extinguishers
• Participants will then be trained in the use of extinguishers

During the week-long break until the final days of training, participants will continue to review the notes and presentations at home.

Day Two – Role of Fire Warden & Emergency Procedures

• Pre-fire/fire/post-fire duties of the Fire Warden
• Understanding people’s behavior in relation to fire
• Emergency plans and evacuation procedures
• Emergency lights (overview of general maintenance requirements)
• Fire extinguishers (overview of general maintenance requirements & the functions)
• Fire alarms (overview of general maintenance requirements)
• Passive fire protection
• Active fire protection
• Running a Fire Warden Course
• Presentation on a defined topic which will be appointed by the instructor
