Course Description

Course Title : Building Information Modelling – BIM

Institute of Technology Tralee

The Special Purpose Award Certificate in Building Information Modelling (BIM) will provide training/up-skilling in sustainable construction through computer aided design in CAD 2D/3D and revit formats, with a particular emphasis on both information and energy modelling. The programme is aimed at practitioners with existing design or construction skills but who have a skills deficit arising from changes in both ICT and the regulatory environment. Through specific modules in sustainable architecture, CAD/revit, energy modelling and building measurement, the programme will enable participants to acquire ICT skills in the area of building information and energy simulation which align with the requirements of the Building Control Amendment regulations 2014 and the construction industrys movement towards BIM as evidenced by the UK government mandate that all publicly funded construction projects shall be developed at a minimum BIM maturity level 2 from 2016.
