The aim of this programme is to produce graduates with the skills knowledge and competence, to enable them to work in the technical management of IT resources. Areas covered include, Advanced Web Development, IT scripting and Automation, Cloud & Distributed Computing, Networking, Advanced Databases, Information Security, Operating Systems and either a Software Development or Innovation Entrepreneurship module depending on elective choice.

Graduates of this programme have strong technical skills across a range of current IT technologies and are in a position to analyse, configure, make secure and manage the IT resources in an organization. This programme is available through an advanced entry mechanism for suitability qualified candidates

Entry Requirements The programme would particularly suit anyone who has already worked in an information technology role and who now needs to update or up skill in order to access current job opportunities. If you are under 23 years old on 1 January you must have achieved Grade D3 in five Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and English or Irish or a FETAC Level 5 qualification or equivalent unless otherwise stated. That is 5 subjects: O6/H7, English or Irish: O6/H7 and Mathematics: O6/H7, or better to apply for year one of this programme. Mature students (over 23 years on 1 January 2020) may be exempted from this requirement and are eligible to apply if they take part in our Head Start Maths Programme. All applicants must prove competence in spoken and written English. Eligible candidates may be interviewed.
Career Path Graduates from this programme have gone on to pursue roles as data analysts, support engineers, QA consultants, security engineers, network engineers, database administrators and IT system managers with such companies as SAP, SAGE, Microsoft, IBM, Equinox, Version1 and Bank of Ireland.
