Barbering Techniques QQI Level 5 Award

This programme module aims to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to use barbering techniques within the hairdressing and barbering industry, operating independently while Under general supervision. Students will cover all aspects of health and safety and client preparation. Students will learn different cutting techniques for men’s hair to include scissors over comb, clippers over comb, tapering, texturising, outlining and detailing. Cutting and caring for facial hair will also be covered. Models will be required. Students should be working full-time in a barbershop. Students will have practical and theory examinations at the end of their course.
N.B. All part-time hairdressing courses are strictly reserved for those working and training full-time in professional hair salons. All part-time hairdressing students are interviewed prior to joining courses
