Autism in the Early Years CPD

This Autism in the Early Years CPD course provides teachers with a broad, general knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in early childhood and an understanding of the difficulties faced by young children with ASD on a daily basis. Participants on the course will gain an understanding of both the educational and social needs of young children with ASD in the infant classroom, and evidence-based instructional strategies used to support the acquisition and development of language, communication and motor skills in these young children.

  • Learn the importance of accommodating young children with ASD’s sensory issues within the school environment.
  • Emphasise the importance of encouraging young children with ASD to play whilst fostering a positive relationship with their peers within the classroom.
  • Inform teachers of practical methods of setting up and managing their infant classroom to promote best learning outcomes for young children with ASD.
  • Highlight the necessity of effective collaboration between all those living and working with young children with ASD.
  • Empower teachers to educate and meet the needs successfully of a young child with ASD in their infant classroom.
