Actor Training – Expand Physical and Vocal Expression – 2 Night Workshop

This series of two Tuesday evening workshops, will be a deep emersion into re-awaking physical and vocal techniques for the actor with some previous experience either in class or in the profession. We will be working in a large studio, at the LAB on Foley Street, and will require participants to wear clothing that allows for full body movement. Particular attention will be paid to expanding vocal capacity, awakening the psychophysical process for actors, exploration of physical conditions (pain, injury, exhaustion, elation, etc.), body centers, vocal placement as well as working spontaneosly and collaboratively. Training is inspired by the work of Michael Chekhov, Cecily Berry, Kirsten Linklater, Roy Hart, and Rudolph von Laban, among others.
We will be working bare foot for some sequences, and will be doing a lot of voice and body work so bring plenty of water to drink.
Class size for this course is limited to 16 participants.
