Adult Continuing Education (ACE) at University College Cork is delighted to once again participate in the Government s Springboard initiative for 2015, which provides free part-time courses for jobseekers with the primary aim of getting jobseekers back to work.

UCC has 135 places on offer across 8 different programmes in a variety of disciplines.

The objective of all UCC s Springboard programmes is to provide training and learning opportunities for jobseekers to up-skill or re-skill in areas where skill deficits currently exist, so that jobseekers may achieve sustainable employment.

Our philosophy at ACE is to stay totally focused on the needs of learners at all levels.

To deliver on our ambitions, we work with a wide range of partners inside the university, and with external partners in industry, professional bodies, governmental and non-governmental organisation, community organisations, and other educational providers.

At ACE we believe that education should be enriching, challenging, and enjoyable; as a university, we are also committed to making sure that the quality of the educational programmes we deliver is world-class.

Our portfolio includes non-accredited short courses and summer schools, as well as a huge diversity of accredited courses, all of which are approved by the university, and are aligned with the Irish national framework of qualifications from Level 6 to Level 9.

ACE is now accepting applications for 2015/2016.

This September ACE will be offering over 50 adult and community education courses in numerous locations throughout Ireland.

Programs will be offered in a variety of areas, such as:

  • Arts & Humanities
  • Engineering, Science, Health
  • Professional Development
  • Social Sciences

The application deadline is 31st July 2015 and job-seekers are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. All of UCC s Springboard programmes address sectors with real demand for key skills and combine both academic expertise with industry focus. Courses are rated highly by employers and participants alike, and students are offered personalised support with dedicated coordinators and career advisors.
