The Irish Management Institution (IMI) and the Institute of Management Consultants in Ireland (IMCA) are among the most renowned management professional bodies in Ireland.
IMI is committed to its members, both individuals and organisations, in providing excellent facilities and research to improve the practice of management both in Ireland and overseas. A wide range of courses and qualifications are available. IMI offers a range of programmes at their Sandyford Campus, in addition to several locations throughout the country. The programmes are offered on an open enrolment basis or they can be customised to meet the requirements of clients and member companies.
Open-enrolment programmes cover the following sectors: Executives, Management, Leadership and Personal skills, Entrepreneurship and SME growth, Marketing and Sales, finance and operations management, HR, Coaching and Training as well as degrees and diplomas. Degrees include 2 and 3 year programmes such as an MSc in Management Practice, an MSc in Business Administration and the Henley Masters in Business Administration. Customised courses are also available for an individual’s specific needs and also customised versions of the majority of open-enrolment programmes. The focus of IMI’s customised courses is on an organisation’s business needs and gaps in management competence. IMI offers a whole range of facilities, testing and techniques unique to the student. IMI’s programmes – whether customised or open-enrolment – establish very precise objectives with the student from the outset. The courses may vary in objective – from developing leadership skills to driving business growth or charting strategic planning and change management – but they all equally offer the skills, insights, knowledge and personal development that the individual student desires. Learning methods are varied and innovative ranging from classroom-based tutorials to work projects within the client organisation. For more information visit www.imi.ie.
IMCA works towards the development of the management consultancy profession. IMCA awards the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation in Ireland. CMC is an internationally recognised management consultancy qualification based on strict certification requirements. Membership is open to management consultants and business advisors with the mandatory professional qualifications, training and experience. The CMC is a competence-based qualification and applicants must meet the specific professional requirements in order to be eligible to apply. IMCA’s code of conduct focuses on three aspects: meeting the client’s requirements, upholding its integrity and independence, and responsibility to the profession and the Institute. Above all, the Institute is concerned with maintaining and enhancing the standards, status and development of the management consulting and business advisory professions.
