In our Nails in Stages system, even before we allow the students to work on a real fingernail, we have a practice sheet that we work on with the student.  On this sheet we teach them how to make the proper size product ball (an acrylic mixture that can be easily molded into a nail shape) for the pink or white part of the sculpted nail. The product ball should have the proper texture and the look of a pearl.

This stage is known as our ‘DIP, WIPE, DRAG’ stage, and it is a whole lot of fun. The sizes and shapes of the different product balls created by first timers are hilarious, but the more the student does them, the better they become until they get the product ball just like a pearl.

Once the student has mastered the skill of the Product Consistency Practice Sheet, we then move onto the Tammy Taylor 12 Step System for Sculptured Nails.
