The Northern Regional College serves a large geographical area across the north-east of the Province and Mid-Ulster. The College offers over 700 courses and has 5,000 full-time and 30,000 part-time students who study across campuses in Antrim, Ballymena, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Larne, Magherafelt and Newtownabbey. The College offers students an extensive range of Higher Education, Further Education, Training for Success/Apprenticeships and Part-time courses, delivered at conveniently situated local campuses.
With our Part-time provision we offer programmes from leisure to professional development and from technical training to our portfolio of Higher Education courses.
We hope that in the current climate of economic downturn that you will look closely at what the College has to offer and make the decision to invest further in training and education. We are offering an advice evening across NRC on 8 September from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm and we hope you will take the opportunity to discuss the options available to you with our experienced and dedicated staff.
NRC is an accessible, progressive and dynamic college built on the quality of staff and teaching and the partnerships that have been built with some of the most innovative and successful operations in the world. The success however is found in the students, and how they apply what they have achieved at NRC and the contributions they will ultimately make in Northern Ireland and further a field.
At NRC we also provide a wide range of courses for adults in the community. We work with many community and statutory organisations to deliver courses in community centres, schools, halls and clubs.
Everyone needs to improve their skills throughout life so that they can obtain work, earn more, change jobs, or achieve promotion. Many people missed out at school, but can improve their prospects by gaining new skills now.
Very often this can be done in an informal environment close to home. Classes take place in relaxed and informal surroundings and are made up of adults of all ages. You will find that tutors are friendly and helpful giving you individual attention. Courses are set up in response to requests from community groups and can be facilitated at any time of the year.
Most of the courses are accredited and so lead to qualifications recognised by employers. When students are ready, they can progress to related courses in our main campuses. Further details about these courses can be obtained from Doris Peden on 028 2766 0406 or email doris.peden@nrc.ac.uk; or Arlene Watson on 028 2563 6226 or email arlene.watson@nrc.ac.uk.
