About Us
GENERAL ENGLISH
Language College Ireland offers world class international study programmes for multi cultural students in a warm, friendly, flexible and safe environment. Combining language tuition with local living, we offer:
- General English – Language College Ireland is a first choice for learning in a safe, comfortable and professional manor.
- Work Study programme - Designed for students aged 18+. Language tuition is combined with work placement in a local pub, restaurant, shop etc in order that students benefit fully from their stay in Ireland.
- High School placement programme - Students aged 12 -18 live with carefully selected host families. Students are totally immersed in Irish culture, engaging with both their host family and fellow students at their chosen school. Top up English classes are offered if required.
- Demi Pair programme - Students live with a selected host family in return for 20hrs light housework or childcare and 1 nights babysitting per week. They attend language classes, from 10-20 hours per week, on a very flexible programme to suit their family hours.
- Au Pair programme - Students live with host families and receive €100 per week pocket money in return for 30 hours childcare or light housework, plus 2 nights babysitting. Language tuition is offered at a minimal rate, 10-20hrs per week on a very flexible programme to fit in with family duties.
- Visa students programme – Students visit Ireland on a 6 or 12 month renewable visa, studying for up to 15 hours per week. They can work up to 20 hours during term time and 40 hours during the holidays. Help with accommodation and jobs are offered.
- One to one tutoring – Students benefit from an intensive language tutoring programme on a one to one basis designed to fit in with their other commitments.
- Home Language programme - Living in the Teacher’s home, students benefit from a flexible class programme as well as intensive spoken English at home.
TEFL & CELT COURSES
Language College Ireland is nationally recognized for its teaching of TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) & CELT (Certificate in English Language Teaching) courses.
ILM & FETAC
We are now offering FETAC accredited courses and ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) courses. Our most popular course is the Diploma in Front Line Management.
OUR STUDENTS
By assessing every student’s individual needs and ability, we are able to ensure that every student receives the appropriate tuition and support. We offer tuition at all levels and students are encouraged to focus on their individual language requirements, eg, basic English, grammar, spoken, advanced etc. Our flexibility in programming is also ideal for professionals seeking to improve their skills in specific areas such as law, marketing, or health etc. Flexibility is our focus thus classes are held at times to suit the student – morning, afternoon or evenings.
Whether living with a host family or not, we ensure our student’s experience in Ireland is positive and stress-free, enabling them to improve their social as well as language skills – essential for success in today’s competitive workplace. We organise an active social programme ensuring that they enjoy every minute of their time with us.
OUR LOCATION
Ideally situated in the centre of Bray, a picturesque seaside town with excellent train and bus services, we enjoy a close relationship with the local community and our host families. Bray has ample provision of banks, post offices, restaurants, shops, evening entertainment, pubs, a range of indoor and outdoor sporting activities and beautiful walks – something to suit everyone.
