The Institute of massage & Sports Therapy Ltd was established in 1998 to provide a professional centre of training for complementary and sports therapists.
it is our aim to ensure that graduates of the Institute are trained to the highest standards and are fully capable before undergoing examinations. the practical skills and sound academic training on each of our courses have ben developed to provide every student with the necessary skills to see their studies as a stepping stone to a rewarding career.
Specialists in Sports Medicine
Th Institute prides itself on its successful history in the sports therapy field, with many graduates working in this popular and growing industry. Until recently this industry was unregulated wiht the majority of the practitioners being unqualified. It was all too often that injuries were treated poorly and in many cases made more serious with incovvect treatment and rehabilitation advice.
Thankfully, teams and sports clubs are now recognising the need for fuylly trained and qualified sports thearpists, who have the ability and skill to treat eht injured area in a confident , safe and effective manner. The comprehensive syllabus covered on the sports injury courses allows graduates to achieve this and also gives them a good knowledge of correct training methods, injury prevention and sports nutrition, allowing them to offer all-round advice to their athletes.
Course Qualifications and Recognition
The syllabus and code of ethics of our coureses conforms with the standards and regulations of I.T.E.C, the International Therapy Examination Counctil, whose qualifications are recognised internationally. All successful graduates will be awarded with the appropriate ITEC qualification and the relevant Institute of massage & SPorts Therapy qualfication, IMST,, which is nationally recognised also. All examinations are set, monitored and corrected by external examiners.
