It is the mission of IBHT to provide learner centred training in a professional and holistic manner. Qualified tutors, who are dedicated to continual professional development, deliver all training. IBHT strives to provide the Health and Beauty industry with skilled therapists, capable of working to the highest standards.

Course Qualifications

All diploma courses lead to International qualifications accredited by the VTCT and/or ITEC awarding bodies. Both VTCT and ITEC have been in existence and operating from the UK since the 1960's. They are based in the UK but are world renowned - colleges all over the world use VTCT and ITEC qualifications. Over 50,000 people a year qualify through the VTCT making it one of the largest awarding bodies in the world for beauty and complementary therapies. We are proud to offer the IRIL (Irish Reflexologists Institute Ltd) Reflexology Diploma. Short CPD courses are approved by the FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists, UK).

Aims

It is the aim of IBHT that all students graduate highly skilled. To facilitate this IBHT provides a Simulated Working Clinic, where students get the opportunity to practice on members of the public, this enables students to gain a wide range of experience and competency. Beauty Students will be trained in the Dermalogica range of products. This range was chosen due to the company's own holistic approach to skin care, its superior range of products and its unequalled support through the International Dermal Institute. Students will receive training that reflects the management systems, commercial and professional standards required for them to advance into the workplace with confidence and proficiency. Great consideration is also paid to all aspects of health and safety and of course business awareness for those who aspire to running their own business. The Simulated Working Environment is a fairly new concept here in Ireland, and establishments able to offer this facility are limited.

Practical class places are limited to a Maximum of 12 students, so early application is advised. The small class size ensures that each student gets adequate individual attention from his/her tutor. In return this enables the tutor to modify and adapt the training to each students needs. It is the aim of IBHT to produce quality therapists and not quantity.

IBHT is a private beauty and holistic training college in Newbridge which offers a comprehensive range of therapy diplomas, both undergraduate and postgraduate. Our diploma courses lead to fully insurable, international qualifications accredited by the VTCT, City & Guilds, ITEC, FHT and the IRIL. We specialise in:

Professional Therapy Training (part-time) - learn new skills & gain qualifications on a part-time basis. If you are looking for professional training in Aromatherapy, Anatomy & Physiology, Beauty Therapy, Holistic Massage, Nutrition, Indian Head Massage or Reflexology, then contact ibht to train with the best!

CPD/Short courses – choose from a wide range of 1-2 day courses for qualified therapists. These courses and seminars are approved by the Federation of Holistic Therapist Ireland. Including advanced waxing, ayurvedic indian head massage, hand reflexology, threading, hot stone massage, gel nails, advanced make-up, hopi ear candling, ayurvedic foot massage.

1:1 Training – this option is available on all our courses and modules. Suitable for either qualified therapists looking for refresher training or for those new to the industry.

School Leavers’ Full-time Beauty Therapy Course – a wonderful local opportunity; eliminating commuting and accommodation costs as a fantastic alternative to teenagers travelling or living away from home.

Student Clinics – students gain real work experience throughout their training in the ibht Student Clinics. These clinics offer beauty & holistic treatments to the general public for just €15. This aspect of their training at ibht gives them gravitas towards their qualification, putting them in the strongest position when gaining employment. 

Teacher Training Diploma – Training for the renowned City & Guilds and ITEC Teaching Diploma is also available at ibht. We can offer you superior quality training to encourage your passion for teaching. The City & Guilds qualification allows professionals to teach for any awarding body, making this qualification an excellent choice for future employment opportunities.

Distance & Intensive Learning – want to have control over your study programme? For those who wish to fast track their career, you can study at your own time and pace in your own space and qualify when you are 100% competent and ready to do so.
