About Us
Established in 2005, Harcourt Business School has offered students business courses for three academic years and its English language department, the English Language Institute, www.englishlanguage.com, has been teaching English since 1960.
The college benefits from a prime city-centre location with easy access from public transport and close proximity to shops, restaurants and other amenities. As a small private college, HBS students benefit from smaller class sizes and a more personal service. The teaching staff all have extensive training and professional experience in their chosen area of expertise.
HBS offers students flexibility with full-time and part-time classes available in the day and evening time in a range of disciplines; IT, Business, English, Accountancy

EDI Certificate in Retail Operations
This certificate prepares students for careers in the retail sector and is assessed by a multiple-choice exam. There are five mandatory units in Customer Service, Risk Management, Team Effectiveness, Merchandise Sales and Stock Management and Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
EDI Diploma in Business Skills
This diploma prepares students for careers in sectors such as customer service, administration and hospitality. The diploma is assessed through workplace observation and interviews. Students will complete units in Business Administration, Customer Service, Management and other cross-sectors such as Health and safety.
EDI NVQ in Business and Administration
The National Vocational Qualification prepares students for careers in administration and is assessed through workplace observation and task completion. There are two mandatory and four optional units.
EDI NVQ in Management
The National Vocational Qualification prepares students for careers as managers and is assessed through observation and interviews. There are four mandatory units and three optional units.
EDI NVQ for IT users
The National Vocational Qualification prepares students for careers either in the IT sector or in sectors where they use their IT skills. The NVQ is assessed through observation and task completion and the syllabus is work-centred.
EUCIP- European Certification for Informatics Professionals
This is a professional certification of competence for IT practitioners and undergraduates created by CEPIS. It offers certification of IT competence at a common standard which is accepted by industry, government and public organisations. EUCIP has international recognition and will allow holders to apply for IT jobs across Europe and internationally. Holders of this qualification can progress to a postgraduate diploma in IT in Dublin City University.
