The Dublin Media Centre has been in operation since 1995 and offers a range of courses designed and developed to meet the demand for highly-trained personnel in the Broadcasting and Media Industries.
We also operate The DJ Training School, in association with Star DJ's, Ireland's largest DJ company.
Our nightcourse modules are highly intensive programmes aimed at giving participants a thorough grounding in the areas of Broadcasting. Areas such as Voice-training, Editing, News-reading to Digital Recording, Radio Commercial Production and Engineering are topics included in our syllabi.

To work in a professional environment you must be familiar with the operation of professional standards of equipment as well as have the ability to use creative skills to enhance the on-air product.
The Dublin Media Centre utilises state-of the-art Broadcast and Recording equipment in a professional broadcast setting. Particular emphasis is put on gaining a thorough understanding of the following.
As part of our objective to give students a "real world" view of broadcasting, the practical element of our courses are held at the studios of a local radio station. This enables students to view, first-hand, the various operational aspects of the radio station, and to learn in professional surroundings.
Equipment used by students during our courses includes Soundcraft, Alice, Denon, Neumann, AKG, Sonifex, Cool Edit / Cool Edit Pro and Yamaha.
Group 1 Broadcasting Course
The Group 1 Module is an intensive 5-week night-time course which takes place one night per week between 7.00 and 9.00pm, with one Saturday afternoon workshop session. Our practical sessions involve ?field-trips? to professional broadcast/recording set-ups. The Course is delivered by a team of experienced professionals, all of whom are acknowledged experts in the radio business. Additional specialised areas of the course are taught by a panel of guest lecturers with extensive teaching and professional studio experience.
The Advanced Course
The syllabus for the Advanced (Group 2) course has been developed and designed to give participants a full and in-depth understanding of the critical areas of Radio Broadcasting. It is a fully intensive practical course designed to immerse students in programme preparation and broadcast simulations. The course is run over three Saturday sessions and is run in-house at a commercial radio station.
