About Us
County Dublin Vocational Education Committee is one of the largest of the thirty-three Vocational Education Committees in the Country. The Committee’s education remit extends from Balbriggan in the north of the county to Lucan in the west, to Shankill in the south and encompasses such areas of high density population as Swords, Lucan, Blanchardstown, Tallaght and Clondalkin. The Committee provides a wide range of education services in these areas. This service ranges from providing full-time education in twenty-two Post Primary schools, eight Youthreach Centres and four Traveller Education Centres, to part-time provision for adults in numerous schools and community based centres. Our composite brochure provides an overall guide to adult education classes and courses offered by Co. Dublin VEC’s Adult and Community Education Service. It provides information on a wide range of programmes for adults who wish to return to either full-time or part-time education. The information provided is set out on a regional basis to facilitate the public to identify specific courses, which may be provided in their particular community or locality. A distinctive feature of the County Dublin Adult Education Service is its capacity to respond and to identify education needs in a particular area.
Our Courses
County Dublin VEC provides a wide and varied range of Adult Education Courses. Regardless of age or educational background there is bound to be a course that will be of interest and benefit to the individual.
For the 2008/2009 session there are approximately 900 Adult Education Courses being offered by County Dublin VEC in an ever widening range of subject areas from art to archaeology, guitar to golf, computers to cookery, and many more.
