A CIMA member (Chartered Management Accountant) will have completed the professional qualification, and will also have gained three years' relevant experience. Chartered management accountants provide the financial information necessary for the planning and development of organisations and commercial companies.
Unlike chartered accountants, chartered management accountants are specialists in the provision of information to managers in all kinds of business organisations.
Your Entry Point
Because CIMA is not merely a financial qualification, our students come from a wide range of backgrounds. Of our existing students, only half have a business or financial qualification; the rest come from a variety of social sciences, language, science or engineering courses. Graduates of business or accountancy disciplines may be awarded exemptions from complete stages and/or exam papers.
Details of exemptions available to certificate, diploma and degree holders may be viewed on our website at www.cimaglobal.com/exemptions. There is also a mature student route into CIMA.
Studying and Learning
Becoming qualified is a straightforward and highly flexible process. The options include taught classes (full-time, part-time, evening or weekend) and distance-learning. Please contact the Student Services Officer for a list of tuition providers countrywide.
Information on joining CIMA, examinations, studying, tuition and training can be viewed on our website www.cimaglobal.com or you may contact our Student Services Officer in the Republic of Ireland Division. Phone: 01 643 0400 Email: dublin@cimaglobal.com
