The University of Ulster established its first postgraduate e-learning
programme in 1998. Since then thousands of students have chosen to study
in this way. We are dedicated to delivering flexible learning
opportunities that allow you to pursue educational qualifications and
personal and professional development in a way that fits in with your
own lifestyle. Our commitment to lifelong learning ensures high quality
courses with interactive learning opportunities, access to dedicated
academics and excellent student support.
Most courses do not have any fixed, traditional attendance requirements.
Instead, students can further their education, improve their career
prospects and increase their earning potential by logging on to their
learning environment, where and when they want to.
Online study (or study by e-learning) can allow you to balance your
study commitments with other important areas of your life, it can be
more cost effective than traditional learning because you don't need
time away from work and it suits a busy lifestyle because you can study
whenever and wherever you are located in the world.
- Virtual education has a number of advantages over traditional
campus-based education. - Students are not limited by geography: They can study at institutes with
international reputations for research and learning. - Students do not have to leave their home or workplace.
- Students have greater flexibility regarding study.
- The electronic medium brings students into contact with other people
whose experience and insights are valuable. - No time is wasted in travelling and often courses can be combined with
employment.
The University of Ulster offers a range of e-learning subjects from
postgraduate programmes to short courses.
