National Payroll Day - Friday 28th August 2009 - Keeping Ireland Paid
National Payroll Day is an initiative of the Irish Payroll Association (IPASS), which celebrates the hard work and dedicated service provided by payroll personnel in Ireland. It is their responsibility to guarantee accurate and timely payment of salary and wage payments to more than 1.8 million employees. The work of payroll personnel is usually taken for granted and often goes unrecognised and unrewarded, despite the fact that they play a vital role in every company.
Payroll personnel in Ireland are responsible for implementing and complying with a wide range of taxation, social welfare and employment legislation and in the course of doing so, they process over 80 million payslips a year, collecting and remitting more than €16 billion in income tax, PRSI contributions and levies to the Irish Revenue Commissioners each year.
Every employer is welcome to join IPASS in celebrating National Payroll Day and the outstanding service provided by payroll personnel in Ireland. There is no cost involved and in doing so, they will receive from IPASS useful information and tax tips for their staff and help to raise funds for the very worthwhile children's charity, Barretstown (www.barretstown.org).
IPASS are currently looking for sponsors and supporting companies.
Sponsors: Becoming a sponsor of National Payroll Day shows your commitment to raising the profile of payroll as a mission critical business process, and the importance of payroll personnel in Ireland, who keep Ireland paid.
All of the premium sponsorship opportunities have been taken up at this time and only silver sponsorship opportunities remain. The cost of the silver sponsorhip is €250, plus VAT and for this you will receive brand recognition through the insertion of your logo on the Sponsors Page of the National Payroll Day website with a direct click through to your company's website.
Supporting companies: Any business which is prepared to spread the National Payroll Day message and recognises the outstanding service provided by its payroll personnel can become a National Payroll Day Participating Company. Becoming a participating company is free and easy and all companies will get free publicity from IPASS.
Registration is carried out on the website. Each company will receive a pack, which will include promotional material, useful information to pass on to their staff, ideas to celebrate the day, and a list of 5 practical tax and PRSI tips which IPASS would ask you to distribute to your staff in return for a minimum donation of €2 each for Barretstown children's charity. These tips are guaranteed to save money for at least some of your staff.
