Gaiety’s one year part-time acting courses now enrolling

Calling all thespians! The Gaiety School of Acting is taking applications for their one year part-time acting courses. The courses run from October to June and classes take place twice a week.

The one year part time courses are for adult students. Experienced theatre professionals and performers teach the classes. In addition, the courses includes specialist lessons on subjects such as voice, mime, stage combat and more.

These are independent one year programmes. However, each course also represents a consecutive level of training. Students can complete levels 1, 2 and 3 of a comprehensive 3 year cycle.Applicants will undertake an auditionandinterview.

About the Gaiety School of Acting

The internationally renowned theatre director Joe Dowling founded the Gaiety School of Acting in 1986. The GSA is the National Theatre School of Ireland and is also the country’s premier actor training facility.

The GSA offersclasses for adults and children. They also offerfull-time, part-time and short courses. Theirfacilities include three acting studiosanda 90-seater black box studio theatre.

 

Gaiety Past Pupils

Their actor-training programme has had significant success. Past pupils have appeared in all of Ireland’s theatres, with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre in London. Former pupils have also appearedin film and television nationally and internationally.

Alumni includeColin Farrell; American television and film actress Olivia Wilde; Eva Birthistle; Colin O’Donoghue of Once Upon a Time; Aidan Turner of The Hobbit and Being Human; Love/Hate’s Charlie Murphy; and Broadway star,Sarah Greene to name a few.
